Warfighter Experiment – Force-on-Force Simulation Exercise

Lightfighter Studies Group (LFSG) will conduct a Warfighter Experiment as part of the Hunter-Killer Research Program, focusing on the operational testing and evaluation of the Hunter-Killer Company Table of Organization and Equipment (TO&E).

Purpose:

This force-on-force simulation exercise is designed to validate the viability, effectiveness, and adaptability of the Hunter-Killer Company in realistic combat scenarios. The experiment will assess how the unit functions across various mission profiles, including distributed operations, reconnaissance-attack, and integrated drone-enabled disruption.

Experiment Goals:

  • Evaluate the Hunter-Killer Company TO&E under simulated battlefield conditions

  • Observe decision-making patterns at the team, squad, and platoon levels

  • Assess force composition, command relationships, and sensor-to-shooter workflows

  • Capture data on survivability, lethality, and operational tempo in contested environments

Methodology:

The event will feature free-play, live-action force-on-force simulation with Multiple Integrated Laser Engagement System (MILES) over multiple tactical scenarios, stressing units across time and operational complexity. It integrates:

  • ADFOR roleplay provided by One Shepherd Leadership Institute

  • EXFOR roleplay provided by Hunter Killer Program volunteers and S&S Training Solutions

  • Integrated UAS/sensor platforms

  • Electromagnetic and signature management challenges

  • Mission command and C2 testing under degraded conditions
